Rumble Entertainment Announces Funding and Founding Team
All Star team assembled to transform gaming by combining the best of social and console games
REDWOOD CITY, CA – September 14, 2011 – Rumble Entertainment, a new gaming company based in Silicon Valley, today announced it has closed a seed round of funding and assembled a renowned founding executive and development team with expertise from Electronic Arts, Blizzard, Playdom and Zynga.

Rumble will develop premium free-to-play games that are instantly accessible, playable across a variety of devices and social networks, all while offering the deep engagement of console games.
In addition to creating their own games, Rumble will offer the world's leading independent developers a publishing platform that empowers them to focus on what they do best - making great games.
The initial round of seed financing was led by Rick Thompson, the founder and Chairman of Playdom in the social gaming space, as well as Adify and FlyCast in the web advertising industry.

The Rumble executive team includes the deepest social gaming and publishing expertise of any startup in the gaming industry. The team includes veteran developers, executives and product leaders from Zynga, Activision, BioWare, Blizzard, Playdom, Electronic Arts, Turbine, FooMojo and RockYou.
The founding team includes:
- Greg Richardson (CEO): 15+ years in games space; Elevation Partners, CEO Bioware/Pandemic (sold to EA in 2007 for $860M); VP and GM of EA Partners; Launched 10+ platinum selling games
- Mark Spenner (EVP and GM of Games): Founder, VP and GM of EA2D (now BioWare SF) at Electronic Arts; VP of Business Development for BioWare/Pandemic; Director, Digital Music, EMI
- David O'Connor: CTO for EA Games Label at Electronic Arts
- John Yoo: Designer on World of Warcraft, lead designer on Zynga's CityVille and Zoo World 2
Rumble will launch its first game early next year and also intends to publish third party titles in 2012.
